What is a Junior English course?

Junior English courses are for children aged 8 to 12 and teenagers 13 to 18. They most often run throughout the summer months at international English schools all over the world and are ideal for learners who wish to develop and improve their English from a young age. As well as improving their English, students also benefit from experiencing a new culture up close and taking part in the many social activities organised by schools. 

Because of the young age of students, it is normal for families and/or guardians to accompany students on their trip. For children under 12, many language schools will help organise accommodation either in a homestay or apartment for the duration of your course. Similar arrangements are also made for teenagers, and many families will combine Junior English programmes with a vacation.

What will be taught?

The syllabus for Junior English programmes is designed specifically with children and teenagers in mind, and students will focus on reading, writing, speaking and listening, alongside improving their grammar and vocabulary in fun and engaging ways. Classes for children will combine traditional English teaching in a safe, fun and comforting environment.
